The second time around...

2006 doesn't seem that long ago. That's the last time I was getting no sleep at night because of a crying, cranky newborn. Its all screaming back to me now.

I've been averaging about 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. So basically 3 mini-naps a night. That doesn't lend well to a lot of productivity during the day. However, this process seems much easier, even with a 2 year old running around. No real parental paranoia, no constant questions or second guessing. Its old hat, now; not our first rodeo, etc.

Olivia isn't one to show off her eye color. In fact, neither my wife nor I can really tell what color her eyes are. She isn't like the soulless Jim Lehrer, who has eyes like Jaws:

They are dark, though.

Anyway, here is a little video I snapped while she was actually awake and not crying (a big development, by the way).

When I get some pictures of her in better lighting and with her older sister, I will post them for extreme cuteness.

Olivia Claire has arrived!

Born on October 7, 2008, 8:04 am. 9 lbs. 6oz. 20 in. long.

Mom and Baby appear to be doing well. As you may be able to tell from the video, she kind of has my hair, and skin tone, and my superhuman ability to sleep through anything. Second time around was certainly much smoother, less stress, less pain, less trauma. More later, as I'm still trying to find that thing called sleep.

So.....We THINK its a Girl?

I have no clue. I know people have been begging me for updates...and well...there aren't any. I've been taking no grief what-so-ever a ton of shit over not having my blogs updated, so I'm going to do that now.

Pregnancy is a process. Of moodswings, and bladder control, and not being comfortable, and wacky-ass cravings. Basically its the process of losing your sanity. We went to get a sonogram a few months ago (months?--yeah I know, I'm not doing a good job updating this thing), and the little fetus had his/her legs crossed pretty much the whole time. Well, wasn't that modest of him/her? The technician said she thought it may be a girl because at a certain angle she should have seek a weenie. That will be a great story to tell friends and girlfriends if we do have a son.

The Deet's.

Well, how about that? As Britney once eloquently put it: "Oops, we did it again". Wendy is about 9 weeks along, which puts her tentative due date around October 11th (for the observant, its the day before her birthday). We found out the good news about the last week of January, but weren't sure because there was an inconsistency between what the doctor thought the due date was and what the ultrasound indicated. We had showed up like three days too early to actually see anything. (The picture above is NOT our little embryo. Its from the internets. I'll post a picture of our little spud when I gain the ability).

Anyway, I will chronicle our little adventure from here on out. And...well...surprise and stuff!
